You cannot discriminate due to sexual orientation, or race. So how is Political prejudice justified then? Sue them into oblivion.

Political party affiliation SHOULD be covered, amazed it never was but there is no chance in it getting covered now.

Political preference is PII, as I've recently learned. That means it is likely covered as a protected class.

As I understand it, the reason is that only aspects that people can't change about themselves are covered.

People can change their religion, though. And sexual orientation isn't that firm, either, if you can even switch genders on a whim. Political views are world views, and thus often deeply rooted. It should be covered.
