I always believed liberals to be better people growing up because of school teachers and the framing. I realized that was not true at one point. But I've never been able to find a better framing for this, that liberals are thought of good because the name is associated with liberation and thus freedoms from those who are out to oppress you. And conservatives are out to conserve what once was and what once was is surrounded by the history of racism and bigotry. We've been played, but how do we fix it? This part I cannot figure out.
Its been said that Republicans are terrible at branding themselves, marketing themselves and it appears to be true. But since we've generally moved away from even that title, we've been labeled even worse than the KKK (and yet BLM has been praised ironically?) and worse than Republicans were even 5 years ago and more.
Has anyone thought about this and figured it out? I'm at a loss for a way to explain and change the associations. We all know KKK were democrats and all of that but its lost on people. I just watched a video about Sinatra fighting against bigotry of time, and one of the first things I hear is he was ahead of his time fighting this and he fought it because he was a liberal leftist. I know that wouldn't be true today but the association is there and accepted. Any ideas?
It is all made up to gaslight people.
