I've known a great many teachers. Some are good friends of mine. I dated some when I was a bachelor. I've been saying for years, school teachers are some of the dumbest people I know. Doesn't make them all bad people, but for whatever reason that job does not attract the intelligent.

I believe it has something to do with being consistently "the smartest person in the room" when the room is filled with mostly uneducated snot nosed brats.
When they suddenly find themselves in front of an intelligent kid or any rational thinking adult their ignorance is quickly revealed for all to see.
