A lot of leftists have it ass backwards. In the real world, individual rights exit ABOVE the system, ABOVE the government. The government is legitimate only to the extent that it respects, upholds, and protects those rights. To the leftists, you don't have any rights, except for those gifted to you by the state, which has some magical authority that exists above all people, even though it is made and imposed by people. That's why they always lust for the centers of power, while the non leftists tend to shun those centers of power. Why they simp and love for the state on everything, while the non leftists tend to admire individual heroes and entrepreneurs.

A lot of leftists are stupid fools, either they believe the promises that the state will take care of them, or even more stupid are the ones who think they are going to be placed on the pedestal of power and be free to control everybody and pull the puppet strings.

I mean, they explicitly included the reason why the right to keep arms specifically (as opposed to other forms of property) shall not be infringed, so it matters. The Constitution offers no such absolute protection of the right to own any and all other forms of property.

Self Defense is a human right. The leftists like to call everything else a human right, like free Internet, free health care, free college, free black reparations. Throw it right back at them.
