If you use the internet, the NSA will know who you voted for based on social media posts. I'm sure they keep data on Canadian citizens too because, why not?
Even if you're not on social media, they can build a voter profile just from what websites you use, your Amazon purchases, or what Netflix movies you stream. They collect footprints from EVERYTHING you do to categorize people like that.
That is not nearly the same as knowing how you voted. That's being able to assign a probability to your being conservative or not, and not necessarily with much precision.
On the small scale those random data points aren't accurate, but when you collect millions of them they can make connections from that chaos to create a web of "Trump Supporting Activity" to compare an individual against. That was the original cover to have all this invasive data collection, to make a web of Islamic terrorism activity.
