There's got to be some reason the Biden Administration is wanting the military forces in the capital disarmed. Are they finally waking up to what they've ignored.
From the images I've seen from inside the Capitol building and Guardsmen sleeping with their rifles, I believe we have a different set of rules in this situation. Whatever the situation is it DC at the moment everybody has to admit it is not normal.

Dude when I was in Iraq we weren't allowed to walk around the base armed. Only outside the wire.
