Yes and no. I've been thinking about this for a while... we need to have decentralized servers where the users can run it, but it has to be done in a way where a user doesn't host a complete file and all the data needs to be encrypted so that it's impossible for that user to know or view any of the files. This is to protect the user because as soon as we have this kind of setup it will be inundated with illegal content and the users will need protecting from being accused of hosting CP or whatever.
Switzerland is under treaty with the US. Protonmail will protect you from prying eyes up to a point. It will not protect you from the US government if they go knocking.
VPN providers collect a lot more info than they let on. They do not want to be shut down. It’s bad for business.
VPN providers see all your traffic and if server with a legal warrant will turn over your data.
Oh and I’ve seen TOR bandied about a bit Anyone operating an exit node can see all your traffic. Law enforcement has used this fact to their advantage in the past.
You want a blockchain based system.
Period.
That said, if you are connected to the internet three really is nothing 100% secure. The only way to be secure is to not connect.
Also if you own a cellphone you may as well just put a sign in your front yard and list all your activities.
Same if you use WiFi. In public OR in your home.
At the end of the day most people walk around with a tracking device in their pocket everyday. So the government has no need to “chip” anyone. They’ve done it to themselves already.
Oh and, not that you mentioned it but, that schematic that’s been circulating that’s supposed to be of the 5G tracking chip in the COVID vaccine - is the circuit diagram for a BOSS Heavy Metal guitar effects pedal. 😂
At the end of the day the only way to communicate and be moderately sure no one is eaves dropping to do it in person in a “secure” location.
Just make sure there are no windows. Any technically minded 15 year old kid with an Internet connection can hear what you are saying if they wanted to.
How would we go about this as a long term solution? Could as many of us as possible set up our own servers like Bitcoin?

Decentralized file servers like peer networks for Torrent, PirateBay, eMule, etc.
Decentralized video sharing servers like BitChute, WebTorrent, D-Tube, Theta, Verasity, Dlive, LivePeer, etc.
Decentralized chat servers like IRC, Matrix, Telegram, Signal, Rocket.chat, ninChat, AstraChat, Mattermost, Slack, Contus Fly, Link Space, Mastodon, Chatwee, Grove, etc.
Encrypt emails with Protonmail (Switzerland), Mailfence (Belgium), Kolab Now (Switzerland), etc.
VPN all web connections
We are at war!
Ok bit of a brain dump here...

This is just one of many devices that are easily built: https://hackaday.com/2010/09/25/laser-mic-makes-eavesdropping-remarkably-simple/
I’ve been into tech since the 70. There really is no place safe or secure in a technological world. :-/
And don’t even get me started on how easy most locks are to pick. 🙄
Also talk of “War” is one if the reasons they want to shut this place down.
Just sayn’
