Unpopular opinion:

Put all handshake accounts on thread-start moderation. Have a random trio of mods approve/ deny. That will address most of the issues, I think.

Obviously more mods will be needed. I don’t think that’s an issue based on the number of volunteers from the last call for moderators.

Gab/Epik has a lot of money, and even they are suffering from massive slowdowns. So, picking up and moving seems enormously ineffective, at least initially. You would literally have to create you own data server. This isn’t a simple “plug it in with another ISP” problem. If Gab/Epik are giving warnings, something should be done. Frankly, I think Gab/epik should step up and offer solutions.

One other thing to consider- the Gab/Epik site can likely be shut down in a moment’s notice when the fake president is installed. That would be the end of a lot of sites, including this one.

If you want to have specific discussions of violence, this isn’t (and never was) the place to do it.

Ps - Frankly, Gab isn’t perfect either when it comes to “extremist” discussions. Andrew should know not to cast stones in his own glass house.

Remember all the hoops we went through on reddit? Remember how much it literally didn't matter? How they banned the dom for some unspecified violation months after people had completely stopped posting?

You cannot negotiate with these people. We can jump through their hoops and do their stupid games, but ultimately it probably won't matter.

Look, if Biden takes office, “Hate Speech” will become a hot topic, and probably a law. By the time we get into “but my 1st amendment rights” in the courts, it will be too late.

I honestly don’t know the correct answer for this problem, I’m just offering the best solution I see. I DO know what the leftists have planned for us, and all this talk won’t amount to a hill of beans when they start passing “hate crime” bills.
