Sweden likely has hate crime laws or some shit that would be used to get the site taken down. The Pirate Bay guys were ideologically left (back when the left opposed censorship) which has helped their project survive. What about Russia hosting (or hosting in some country that's not aligned with the West)? If there's a DNS/hosting company in some country that is owned by someone too rich to easily bribe and that doesn't care about lib histrionics then theoretically we could be left alone.
Your IP traffic can still be blocked coming into the country from wherever else as it has to travel across the trans Atlantic cable.
There are a number of main routing/switching hubs across the US internet backbone. They could block traffic as it enters the country. And, again, telcos.
This is actually how the NSA tapped in and duplicated some the traffic to snoop on people.
