It’s a matter of sheer numbers. Hispanics are already a larger minority than African Americans. If the Biden administration grants amnesty to millions more, their voting block becomes far more powerful. The Democratic Party won’t need the black community anymore, and they’ll need to pander to the larger group.

To pass legislation through the U S Senate you need 60 votes to get past a filibuster. To get rid of the filibuster you need 50 votes.
