I always thought the boogaloo thing was just more of a meme for fun than any real organized thing. I almost wonder if it came from that movie Cherry 2000. You remember Walter and the bad guys who were after cherry? They all wore Hawaiian shirts and carried guns of course. It was a goofy fun part of the movie that was part of the joke. And I think that's the way people have appropriated it it's not actually meant to be anything. That's my perception I don't know any of those guys.
