In fact, not following orders can lead to criminal prosecutions. But you just rely on the tiniest shred of credibility from a 80 year old defense by commanding officers in the largest adjudicated mass murder in history while being tried in makeshift court by the winners of the most devastating and bloody war in all of human history, because that's totally what regularly happens in a city of a quarter million on daily basis.
