Joe was scared they would turn around and shoot him, so they had the commanders take all their ammo away. But but but... Joe is the most popular president ever with 80 million votes right?

Seems weird that the most popular candidate ever in the most secure election ever would be worried about a smooth transition. Everyone loves him right?

8
Slenderman 8 points ago +9 / -1

If I was the most popular president. I would never worry about anyone cuz everyone loves me.

ProphetOfKek 8 points ago +8 / -0

Bill Clinton also used to have soldiers disarm themselves when he’d come around.

Really? I can't tell what's real anymore.

schiff_for_brains 3 points ago +3 / -0

Obama, too.

krofe2 1 point ago +2 / -1

Can you really blame them? You'd have to be a fool to not be paranoid if you're the top man.

3
ikeepforgettingname 3 points ago +3 / -0

More proof Joe don't know how guns work. 1 shot weapons without mags. Were all the soldiers searched for a single 5.56? Better go all finger fondling TSA on their buttholes too cant have the millitary not get anally fucked by Liberals.

Standard operating procedure for deployed NG to help in a crisis scenario. No ammo is ever distrubuted. Magazines maybe, but showing off the guns dangling off them is usually enough to keep the peace.

Also I seriously doubt any one would sign off on having that many armed, locked and loaded weekend warriors so close to a bunch of really important people.

Deploying the NG to help in a crisis and deploying troops are two different things. If there are armed military soldiers deployed on the ground, then they are not there to help do security.

A lot of people seem to be confused about what the national guard really is. They aren't soldiers like in the marines or army or whatever. They most likely work office jobs in the private sector and just have an occasional training.

2
PropagandaWizard1984 2 points ago +2 / -0

Call them by their proper name and people would be less confused. They are The Nasty Girls. No ammo but they will scratch your eyes out.

Wrong. The National Guard does the same exact training and schools as active duty. National Guard units rotate through NTC (National Training Center), which is the standard for Active Duty. The National Guard follows the same rules, regulations, training, and standards as active duty. There is almost no difference between the two, other than the national guard gets their shit done in a fraction of the amount of time active duty does. National guard brings more diverse backgrounds into different scenarios because the unit is made up of people who have different life experiences and civilian jobs. Active duty is just a bunch of kids who joined the military at 18, have their 1 military occupational specialty, and that's all they know (and not very good at it at that). I understand that in the past there was a huge difference between the two, the nasty girls earned a reputation as being a bunch of shit bags. In the last decade they have really strived to incorporate the one team one fight mentality.

I heard that Biden's transition team fears that Trump-supporting Guardsmen may take it upon themselves to shoot Biden, because reasons. So they first asked for personal information on the Guardsmen so the team could identify the Trump-supporters among them, this was (obviously) denied.

So as backup, the Biden transition team requested that ALL the guardsmen stationed in D.C. would not be carrying any ammo.

This MAY be a result of that... but take a moment to think how insane the above text sounds. The transition team of an inbound President, not only requesting that thousands of troops protect him, but that they do not represent a threat to him either. What are they supposed to use, harsh language?

3
consumptiveballerina 3 points ago +3 / -0

I think you're going to find very few guardsmen who don't support Trump.

2
IHeartMyDoggy 2 points ago +2 / -0

Wait, I don’t understand. If they have no ammo, what purpose do they serve. If someone needs to be taken out, how can they shoot them?

3
Afeazo 3 points ago +3 / -0

Theatrics, and we get to foot the bill for the privilege.

B4S3D-P4TR10T 9 points ago +9 / -0

I saw some troops with mags in their carriers...i think they think it makes them look less like traitors

4
Strongocho [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

I thin kit makes them looks stupid, My guns are loaded right now simply to protect my own home that is under no direct known threat.

6
Ballind 6 points ago +6 / -0

This is national guard. You're presumably better trained

3
PropagandaWizard1984 3 points ago +3 / -0

This 100%. They aren't allowed to have bullets in the rifle for their own safety.

4
ddragon 4 points ago +4 / -0

Have you seen ammo prices lately? I just finished my first build, and if push comes to shove, I’ll be using it as a fancy club

2
Strongocho [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

Yeah, it is wild. I am still stocked up from years ago, I bought thousands of dollars worth of ammo when it was cheap just to have it on hand. I recommend this site, it shows you the cheapest place to get ammo in any caliber you want. Check it often and you can score some pretty awesome deals sometimes. Especially if buying in bulk. Just pick your round type at the top and sort by price per round. this is the best resource to have as a new gun owner.

Canadean 3 points ago +3 / -0

you can literally see it sticking out of his front carrier right beside the optic

1
Strongocho [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

That isn't armed. There needs to be a full mag in and a round in the chamber. That is how you carry when you are military doing security in a hostile environment. The only reason they wouldn't be doing that is if they are not actually scared of anything and just doing a big show to make it seem crazier than it is in a way to ruin Trumps legacy. Are there even any MAGA people out there anymore? What is the huge threat?

1
Canadean 1 point ago +1 / -0

they aren't in a hostile environment

2
Strongocho [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I know... That is my entire point. They are not in a hostile environment at all. Proud boys are not about to assassinate anyone, Trump is not behind any coup, it is all made up. Their reaction to the Jan 6 "event" is exactly like their reaction to covi. exaggerated and overblown for political reasons.

3
unique_string 3 points ago +3 / -0

Obeying D.C. mag limitation laws. There is a tiny little legal mag in there, but its so small you can't see it in the pic.

3
Byrd 3 points ago +3 / -0

Non-combat toured Sham Shield . . . I was E-4 Mafia once . . . I know why they didn't give him mags lol

3
BeOne420 3 points ago +3 / -0

Easier to go to the ammo bin he definitely has at least 3 mags on him. Better to keep the explosion guided projectiles locked away till it’s time to press that boom boom button

2
Strongocho [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I never had that mentality. I carry loaded and chambered every day. I am literally in my office in my own home right now with a pistol on my chambered. Carrying a gun without a magazine in it is probably the stupidest thing I have ever seen.

2
BeOne420 2 points ago +2 / -0

I agree with you and I’m in the same boat.

3
AwakenTheEagle 3 points ago +3 / -0

They all each have a bullet in the chamber and agreed mutually they can only take one commie each. Sharing is caring.

2
Surfsup 2 points ago +2 / -0

New ETS product, the Stealth 3-round mag.

Appear weak, when you are strong

2
Recyclops 2 points ago +2 / -0

Different states have different rules on how their NG is outfitted. Minnesota NG carry their ammunition in pouches.

2
Strongocho [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

I didn't know that. Seems kinda retarded to me. I carry a loaded gun 24/7 even in my home. When I was in the Marines, I would carry 2 loaded guns on me while inside a vault inside a building on a base (worked in the armory for a year). If they are in a dangerous zone and legitimately feel like they are protecting the capitol from a violent insurrection led by the president, I think they should be armed. Unless they are just there as props so that the democrats can LARP as some distressed heroes saving the world from the big bad orange man.

He's got two arms, clearly seen, so... what's your question?

2
M4J0R_CH335E 2 points ago +2 / -0 (edited)

I don't* understand this logic either. Why carry about a weapon if you have no ammunition?

2
Strongocho [S] 2 points ago +2 / -0

because they are LARPing. Nobody is actually scared of proud boys assasinating Biden lol. Nobody actually thinks Trump is staging any coup, it is all a show to ruin his legacy. they want nobody to remember what USA was like in 2019 when many Americans were having the best years of their lives, unemployment (especially among minorities) was at an all time low, and the economy was on steroids. I am going to really miss Trump. 2019 USA was inspiring.

What did i tell you pedes, theyre not going to have armed troops in the capital.

1
ghost_of_aswartz 1 point ago +1 / -0

honestly that might be protocol and the magazine is in his pocket...not sure

1
Strongocho [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

That is a strange way to carry a rifle...

1
barwhack 1 point ago +1 / -0

They're not pretending to be armed. They are pretending to be without ammo; whilst armed.

1
BS2020 1 point ago +1 / -0

they could have mags on them -- although to be honest, I can't imagine they would be armed as it could lead to an enormous liability -- just theater. And, if they really needed to be armed, they'd have bigger issues on their minds than worrying about masks as they would want to be fully prepared for armed conflict -- not a flu that has a .001 percent chance of dong anything to you

Strongocho [S] 1 point ago +1 / -0

probably 2-5 seconds, but there is still no reason to carry an unloaded weapon. Many people think it is stupid to carry without one in the chamber, but not even having a magazine inserted is absolutely absurd.

1
CmonManDemoWhat76 1 point ago +1 / -0

I would not base this, on some not having loaded weapons. Can bet your ass, there are many, that are loaded up, and ready. Don't fool yourself on a few random pics.

1
NordicIsrael 1 point ago +1 / -0

There's a press release related to this. They are not allowed ammo (yet).
