I liked him a lot but was more of a Captain Beefheart fan when it came to the product. They did work together on several things.
Eric Drew Feldman, his keyboardist, carries on and has been in some stellar bands and has produced great projects.
All good, but Roxy & Elsewhere is beyond belief --- Chester Thompson and Ralph Humphrey on drums, Ruth Underwood on percussion, Napoleon Murphy Brock on sax and flute, Tom Fowler on bass, Bruce Fowler, Jeff Simmons guitar, etc..
If I could only have one album on a desert isle, this would be it.
Always loved Zappa....his insights into culture and politics were right on and his music is incredible.
