Well the lack of sleep I could see that. But idling doing nothing is not healthy either. Why would they go out their way to demoralize them? My son is no longer in the military I will have to ask him for some insight. It is almost like they are punishing these guys for supporting the country and doing their job.
Couple of my buddies from my old unit got sent to the border last year or whenever. Lodging was shit and there wasn’t enough food for everyone.
Part of being in the Army is getting treated like shit, doing things that make no sense all the time or specifically to look like you’re doing something and saying roger for all of it.
So nah, this is totally normal behavior from my experience. But I was infantry. Desk jobs are treated like humans for the most part. Sucks to suck for the non-combat people there getting a taste of what life in the infantry is like.
4 hours?? who is getting 4 hours??? "Suck it up" I do miss the Navy, but lack of sleep and going from 12 hour nite shift to 12 hour day shift with quarters and PT was not one of the things. MA3...
4 hours is boot camp. 4 hours was not normal for me... Navy. deployed was 12 on 12 off. On a ship that is 4 hours off with thumb up your butt, and 6 more on shift with thumb up your butt.
I have no problem with them marching, idling isnt good either. but theres no reason they shouldnt be allowed to sleep properly. zero reason, they are not short on numbers.
there is a much larger game being played that ppl dont realize. so many of the politicians have inside deals with the chinese. china does military training with canada, within canada, and there are a far number of chinese troops in canada east/west coast. EU just did a deal with China. Also, it should be noted that many of our news media people went to events in china, which boil down to spreading pro china news.
CNN achors were even talking about wanting to deplatform newsmax and OAN for "hate."
At the end of the day, the election was completely rigged and the media covered it up, among many other coverups, they will remove conservative media, biden will undo most of trumps policy, paving the way for china to continue its economic tyranny. If there is no platform that allows free speech/conservative platform... you understand what happens.
So if the concern is that members of the nG have sympathy for trump, they are being reeducated as we speak.
My son says there is some sort of base 75 miles north of where we live it is not a nato base like we thought. He does not know but thinks there are chinese troops there. This area is wide open no way to stop anyone coming through. He says he heard the other day a chinese guy was somewhere along the border was caught. If chinese are going to be coming down it will be right on the road not far from our place. At this point I am not sure what the hell is going to happen but I hope to hell he is wrong about that base.
i dont think your sons wrong. essentially the deal china made with canada is that if china puts its "assetts/business" in canada, that they can put chinese soldiers on it to protect it and that they do not need to notify the local canadian authorities of their presence. so all they need to say is thats an asset and boom, now they can have a chinese military base. a month or so back we shot down a drone coming over the great lakes, it landed in michigan i think. it tried to use a commercial jet for coverage / entry into US. that jet was a chinese, going to NY i think. i dont quite remember the exact details.

There is no military close to area that I am talking about. My son wonders what could be done to stop them from crossing into our state. Its just barbwire fence. I say get the farmers in the area involved to take out roads to stop transport of equipment. Beyond that I have no idea. I told my son that had been in the military he was going to be our go to guy or designated leader. But all 3 of my sons are good men and have good brains. I am counting on that when the chips are down they will handle themselves well. We have seen drones but assumed they belonged to our border patrol. God I hope they belong to our guys had not really thought about that till just now.

They sleep deprive you in training while you shoot at the range. They don't want you accurate with a gun after 8hrs of sleep and a weekend off but when they woke you up before the sun and and did a bunch of exercise to simulate being in combat
First please do not ask him for operational information. Second 4 hours of sleep on ground is boot camp brain washing... not a good sign. Are they stopping ideal hands or is something going to happen that might cause questions amongst the troops?

My son was army reserve. He was mechanic. But he got out on medical. He doesn't talk much about his experience. He talks about anything else.

Keep the troops exhausted and give them ammo, not a good combination. One person fires off a round and they all start panicking, especially at night.
