All I know is that broadcast dishes are large, unmovable, in the open, and look easy to break. Cable companies can't distribute their feed if they can't receive and local stations can't broadcast. If one side or the other gets pissed off enough, they're easy to shut down. I've always thought it was a stunning security flaw.
