See Adm. Mike Rogers. So I think Trump has a patriot group at the NSA, and he's got all the receipts, and he knew how deep and wide the swamp really was, and we'll find out on Wednesday at noon if there's any truth to this and if he's willing to cross the Rubicon.
Now, if that's true, put yourself in Trump's shoes at the time of the Vegas shooting. The official story is a big shrug, and he can figure out the truth but the deep state doesn't want it out and it being out would risk war anyways and it's not a convenient time. He doesn't bury the story so much as he lets the FBI bury it - one more strike against them.

I like it. Rubicon Don won't show. Waiting for him to take the lead in that was always a mistake. He's peaceful. Or surrounded by traitors.
