Wow. Its so simple when you put it like that. I had no idea why I seemed to think he might be immune.

It’s like the rock when he endorsed Biden everybody was like you how could he endorsed Biden. Yesterday we saw that he has a mini series coming out on his life on NBC that’s how he could sell out.

A couple podcasts back, Joe interviewed the former head of the ACLU.

The interview was pretty good when it came to talking about the importance of free speech. The guest was very pro free speech, clearly passionate about it. It was refreshing to hear someone with some passion for the subject spread some sanity.

The best part was when the guest reviewed the US case law on the crime of incitement. It was clear from that review that to be guilty of incitement, you have to clearly make a call to violence and for that violence to immediately take place. The guest was clear that incitement was not applicable to speech that appeared fine on its face but could "potentially" lead to some type of violence if some random person took it the wrong way. Made sense.

But then they got onto the topic of Trump and all logic and integrity went out the window.

The guest said Trump clearly incited the DC riot and should be convicted of impeachment. The guest lied about what Trump said. He literally made up a direct call to riot. Worse yet, Joe agreed with the lie. Joe went further and asked the guest if Trump should also be charged criminally and sent to jail. The guest said no. And his reason? Because the guest was afraid if the case went to trial, Trump might be found not guilty (shocking!), which would add to case law broadening the defense of free speech when charged with incitement. So the guest thought being excluded from the political process for the rest of Trump's life was a satisfactory punishment. The former head of the ACLU actually argued that, and Joe didn't push back on it at all. Joe is 100% a shill. As a former fan, I lost all respect for him at that moment.

We live in a clown world.

Spotify, his billion dollar deal or whatever it was. But the thing is that he never was that smart, he just had interesting guests not many other people would have on. that's what he did the best.

Yeah but he had a genuine curiosity for the things you arent allowed to talk about.

I imagine he still does, but now he's beholden to a platform that doesn't allow those things to be talked about.
