I had to cut most of my "friend" around 2012. My self awareness was key to recognizing the common themes in my environment. Once i realized how similar many of these people were (NPC's) i began casually testing the limits of their delusion. They live to talk and faux debate so it wasn't hard to get two of them to say Christians were an impediment to society and if necessary needed to be executed. The people who said this were popular, influential and connected. The threat is real.

I got into an argument with an old friend on Facebook on the 6th because she claimed there was domestic terrorism. I told her I hadn't seen any violence. This set her off of course. She went on and on back and forth where all I kept repeating was that I myself, with my own eyes, watching live, had not seen any violence. She called out another friend who seemed to agree with me and that friend said she was open to facts, Sha just hadn't seen any violence. My friend instantly said thank you for being honest. I don't understand this hypocracy. I pointed it out and she said that I had never specifically pointed out that I myself don't condone violence. WTF.
It was a mind blowing exchange where this person clearly doesn't think for themselves, only links to twitter what others say. It was obviously threatening to her that I had formulated my own opinion and my opinion didn't fit the narrative the MSM was feeding her.

I can completely attest to OPs statements. Coworker/friend of many years who I thought to be a moderate leftist was a long time casual debate buddy of mine. Only in 2020 did it start to get disturbing the way he would argue with me. I was homeschooled for most of my life and he began to start making claims that because of that I was brainwashed and indoctrinated and that I had no choice in my beliefs. The irony is that I held a strong debate game with him, always cited credible sources and used sound logic and all he could ever do is say was I lacked empathy or some leftist trash emotional appeals. I ended up cutting it off because he wouldn't stop initiating debates WITH ME and it was making him angry!?! He still wonders why he can't find a girl to settle down with him let alone date him for more than 3 months.
Its the easy way out. The right way to solve this conflict is by infiltration. Your going to have to live life with a spies mindset, if you hope on making an impact.
