I hear where you're coming from, and I totally get why you feel that way. But you have to recognize that we aren't on a level playing field. Everyone knows what happened. Unfortunately, the rules are not being applied fairly. But we can't announce the plays we're going to make. We have to subvert their expectations. We observed what they did. They think that they got away with it this time, and they'll get lazy. They're not going to develop a new strategy, they'll just try to repeat their success. But that's where they're going to fail. We KNOW what they're gonna do. They're stupid as fuck, and their moves are obvious.
We can't cheat in the same way, but we will be bending the rules in our favor. We can no longer afford to pull punches. We're not going to look to the refs to call a foul every time a foul play is made anymore. We're just going to play with a savage hunger that must be fed.
We can't expect our one power hitter to save the game for us with a down by 3, bottom of the 9th in Game 7 on a bases loaded Grand Slam. We're gonna have to make base hits over & over & over. We're gonna make their pitchers throw 30 pitches every damn inning until their arm is blown out and they gotta call in relief pitchers. Blow through their entire roster by the 7th inning. We're gonna make their head coach blow a damn artery on National TV. Our mascot is going to beat the living shit out of their mascot just for the sheer entertainment of it.
