They probably needed Trump supporters to show up so they could blend in and cause trouble, but the Trump supporters didn't show up so they couldn't go through with whatever it is they wanted to blame on us.

There are 100+million President Trump supporters in the US,, they are no where near done bud. Will we soon see how much of a pass they have.
They were hoping to blend in to a large crowd, but we didn't show up so they didn't do anything because they're cowardly weasels.
They only need a dozen to make a few hundred look bad.

Seems that the common explanation here is that they were trying to do what they did on the 6th, still would have thought they would have bused a substantial crowd into one Capitol at least as a backup, especially when the word was being spread around not to attend these staged protests.
