If it is getting a lot of votes in RISING, that means it is near the top of that page. When it goes into HOT, it may be 20, 40, 50, pages down. Most ppl don't read 40 pages down, so don't see your post. Therefore can't upvote it.
Other post that were rising similar but not as fast were still there. MY post was gone and upvotes stopped. every few seconds 2-3 upvotes then none. went to check and it was gone. kept checking and it never returned. ALl the other post were there the ones i passed and the ones i was going to pass but my post was not.
It was there for less than an HR. It was flying to the top and then poof gone no activity on it. the other post done same time as mine some way earlier were still up. The top comment had 400 plus up votes it didnt bump to HOT as some claim mine did. That post was older than mine by at least half hr
