Yep. If you want a better and cleaner search, use Duckduckgo. They have their own crawlers, they don't use google. They supplement results using bing, and no bing doesn't use google.
Bing has been pretty nice too. Like, Microsoft is big tech of course but Google is a whole other level of evil. Completely manipulated results on anything political.

Okay, but I'm not actually seeing the claims that said person made there. I'm seeing a list of possible privacy violations, that may or may not be true. Keeping in mind that it may not be a privacy violation if the data is anonymized. And several of the issues relating to censorship relate to the time when they were co-partnered with Yahoo, which means there may be a limitation clause.
They're also owned by a company that makes its money by basically doing ad arbitrage, they may not give your data to google but they most certainly are storing it and selling it.
