Well, I do not condone this type of thing, because it is misleading, but I can explain why this happens.
They are reviews for Mercer knife sets. All reviews for all sets are bunched together. Just looking at the blades, they are the same just offered in different sets with different handles.
Certainly not optimal, but completely fake? Not really.
Agreed. I have seen this for many companies selling multiple versions of the same line of product. I wish it were not that way because it is not a true review of exact product.
But if you go across all of their items it’s that way. Batches of different numbers and I’ve seen plenty of other companies that don’t do this on Amazon. Not to complain about their knife because they are pretty good, I just bought mine elsewhere.
Reviews are essentially the entire game on amazon. Better/more reviews get you higher placement in search. This is why sellers will try to incentivize you leaving a review, I've had a few that sent a card saying that they would give me $5 or $10 if I left them a positive review.
That's kinda how amazon's reviews work, all 9 sets are included in the same 'link page' if you can call it that. As you brows the reviews, it will tell you what item is actually being reviewed.

IF you have to shop amazon, get the Fakespot app. It grades the authenticity of reviews.

Lots of scams and counterfeit products on Amazon. Avoid if possible.
Fakespot browser extention works like a charm on those!
