I can't help but remember the start of Return of the Jedi where Jabba was about to toss Luke into the Sarlacc pit.
To an outside observer, the situation would have looked pretty hopeless. Luke was in handcuffs, standing on the edge of the plank over the pit, while his team effectively held as slaves. But it turned out that Luke's team had completely infiltrated Jabba's crew and at the very last second everything turned around.
