Trump has tried his best, the only thing I find disgusting about him is his Insintence that the courts, the legislatures, VP pence, congress etc should show "Courage" when he himself won't show any bone of courage and invoke the insurrection act!
He has no doubt already sounded his level of military support and found it insufficient barring Special Forces and the Marines. He would need 1000% support to pull off the Insurrection Act, not partial support.
PLEASE REMEMBER -- the Hawaii judges, his own appointees on Scotus, those commanders in Syria who completely blew off his drawdown orders, Mike Pence in crunch time, Barr's nonstop foot-dragging -- no one feared or fears Trump, because the Deep State knows he missed his Day 1 brief moment when indeed, he could have crushed enough of them like roaches to earn their fear and respect. As time passed, his power dwindled day by day, because the Deep State never paid any penalty whatsoever for openly defying the President.
