Definitely not a shill, but thanks for your concern. Absolutely got through two Fridays ago and had a brief argument with Snerdley about it before he hung up on me. Don't believe me if you want, though. No skin off my nose.
I'm a regular Rush listener and had heard several kind mentions of Ashli on air since she was murdered. Maybe you missed them. Mr Snerdly deals with a lot so I'm curious what you argument was about? There are several reasons why he might have hung up on you. Maybe you don't have a voice to radio, bad cell connection or like with me maybe just maybe you just seem like a shill. That doesn't mean you are one it just means he didn't think you would be good radio.
Snerdley: Rush Limbaugh Show, what's your question or comment?
Me: I want to mention Ashli Babbitt and talk about the future of the Republican Party.
Snerdley: Why do you want to talk about Ashli Babbitt?
Me: I just want to mention her on the air.
Snerdley: Okay, well, first of all, we don't use our airwaves to mention people by name. That's not how this works. Why do you want to talk about her, anyway?
Me: Because she was murdered in cold blood and no one on our side seems to even want to say her name.
Snerdley: Whoa, whoa, whoa. How was she murdered in cold blood?
Me: She was shot point-blank in the face for trying to climb through a freaking window.
Snerdley: [Long pause.] I'm not having this conversation with you. Goodbye.
Keep in mind, but for my final retort, I remained pretty calm and overall civil through the whole thing. His tone, though, almost immediately became aggressive after I initially mentioned Ashli. I really felt like there was a mandate in place to not take any calls from people who said they wanted to speak about her.
I believe you about others getting on the air about her, although I do admit to not hearing those callers. I'm usually at work when the show is on. My guess, though, would be those callers made mention of her in passing after getting on the air and didn't give Snerdley a heads-up beforehand.
to be honest my best guess is that the alt right and anarchist have championed her as a Martyr. Republican establishment types might have an order to squash any attempts to making her a Martyr. It could strengthen the Nationalist Right and Anarchist movements.
