I remember my guidance counselor telling me (mid 90's) to not go into a Carpenter's Apprenticeship because it was for losers. I told him that I would have insurance and be making $12/hr right off the bat. He said that was nothing. When he refused to tell me (ballpark) how much he made I knew he was full of shit. I was making more than that queerbait in 2yrs with zero college debt.
