This push for mandatory college has made undergrad degrees worth less than toilet paper. I have a Bachelor's in chemistry. I figured I could get entry level work as a lab tech, take night classes until I could get my PhD, and by then, I'd have several years experience to go with the degree.

I ended up bouncing around a lot of temp jobs, some in labs, others in factories. I even worked seasonally in a butcher shop skinning deer. I have a family to feed, so no job has ever been beneath me. Eventually, I got my CDL. Now, I've been driving a truck for 5 years, and I make more than I ever did using my degree.
