I lived there many years. Also Texas . It's a toss up ! But wow , I planted my feet here and got so much to lose by leaving but it's weighing on my mind more and more.

Really worth considering.... I know it's not easy to move across country. But it also sucks to pay taxes in a state that doesn't represent you.
