Slow, patient digging, one mind at a time, one position at a time, even if it is just the damn dogcatcher or janitor or coffee fetcher to start with. Lie and cheat if you need to, they do, and this is not the time to "not be those people" because right now being noble is going to just keep you under their heel because they, DAMN IT, will use it against you.
