I dunno if that's a good thing. God usually has very severe teaching methods. ;)

I mentioned God to let folk know that I don't need others to cheer me up or to motivate me. :D Just trust in God's intent.

Yup, some of his teaching methods are severe, but people are stubborn. There is a purpose behind God's methods too. In the Old Testament, one way God's methods are described is as a furnace fire, and those being punished as silver/valuable metal being melted to have the impurities removed in order to have a better product in the end. It's a purification process. :D
