I'm trying to understand if it was something impossible to do or that he simply didn't out of fear it would cause mass violence.
The way I see it, America is done the second that pedo is sworn in anyway. America being the last stand for freedom so technically, the world is now completely gone.
The only people I know of that will literally live under any regime no matter the oppression are the Godless. Trump knew we are not Godless and knew that living or fighting for freedom is something God would want of us. Demand in fact.
I know for a fact the people around me who are patriots would rather have war than have themselves and their children grow up in a Godless, authoritarian State ran by proxy in China.

I would guess although it was an option, he felt too much damage would happen to America. Then he would have to deal with 4 years of fixing it.
That, and the point that him and just a hand full of Government agencies and people support him.
Then he shouldn't have talked such a big game. This leads me to believe he's like a shepard that lead his flock to the wolves den and just left.
You can lead a horse to water... then it has to drink. That's the best way to think of it. It was him against the world.
