I think there are people who think the whole thing is a hoax, but mostly I think the belief is that the claims of the Holocaust have been exaggerated over the decades by the news media, Hollywood movies, bureaucratic institutions, and historians looking to spice up their books.
Some things about it are quite surprising, like all those newsreels of the mass graves for the Holocaust, were actually victims of disease. I believe even historians acknowlege this, and yet the footage is continuously recycled as proof. Some of the more lurid Holocaust stories have also apparently been debunked, like the human skin lampshades. The funny thing about that is the human skin lampshades were one of the first things I learned about the Holocaust, and were a persuasive visual to really enforce that it was an unquestionable evil event. Knowing what we know now, and how this claim is rejected yet continues to be repeated, it’s hard not to notice how much this feels like “kids in cages” or any of the other lurid media lies.
A lot of people are now being slandered as “bigots” and “anti-Semites” and “Holocaust deniers” because they are questioning the total veracity of everything Hollywood has shown us about the Holocaust. But all that does is make more people curious, and it’s hard to deny that Hollywood does lie. Even when they slap that “Based on a true story” label at the start, what you are watching is not necessarily historically, factually, or scientifically accurate.
It's selective editing and selective history telling.
3 million German girls were raped and murdered by the Red Army, and hundreds of thousands of German girls were raped and murdered by American soldiers.
Why not make movies about those events? Or tell that story?
As the Red Army advanced on the eastern front, it was established practice to chase and rape any girl found, then kill. After about 3 days of that behavior, the city was "stabilized" and officers expected the soldiers to stop it.
The same rhetoric the left is now using, abandoning common sense for group/class warfare and abandoning civil rights/constitutional rights/human rights for ideological or identity rights, is how it happened in WW1 and WW2.
They said in Congress that Trumpism had become a cult. It's the other way around. Leftism have become a cult. Trumpsters never abandoned common sense and respect for life. Calling for audits of the elections and investigating the abnormalities is not extremism. Censoring those who do because it doesn't fit your group objectives is.
You’re neglecting the simple fact that when the aggressor loses the other side tends to take vengeance. Not right. Not honorable. Just how it goes, especially if you invaded Russia killing millions. Russians have never been known as simps, but post communism with no veneer of Christianity...
For what it’s worth, the Holocaust as a label is properly inclusive of various deaths including starvation and disease in the ghettos and concentration camps. Just because many died of malnutrition and various diseases doesn’t mean “nobody’s fault” - it was absolutely cruel and murderous savagery that herded the Jews like animals into these death traps, even ignoring the shooting, gassing and other forms of outright murder.
Sure, that’s fine. It just feels a little deceptive when you realize that the media presented a newsreel as one thing when it was really another. It’s easy for them to say they never claimed to make that association, but I think the association is a natural assumption considering how that footage was presented and framed.
Does this mean that the Holocaust wasn't real?
