Why

Because he was "advocating violence" I assume. Point of fact, what he was talking about is not exactly the same as a protest/riot at the capitol.

No. It's not the same.

I remember the taking over of a kosher food market in Paris by one lone terrorist with a gun.

One guy. There were about ten or twenty people in the supermarket. Very ordinary types, nothing martial about any of them. They were held hostage a long time and ended up dead.

However.

They were in a food store. Duh. There was cooking oil on the shelves. I wonder if the terrorist's hands would have worked well covered in oil. Or his face.

There was salad vinegar on the shelves. I wonder if his performance would have improved with a faceful of that.

There were glass bottles all over.

There was powdered pepper. There was flour. There was bleach. There was ammonia. For laundry. There were garbage bags. You can't see with one of those on your head.

An opponent who can't see is a defeated opponent.

And, each person weighed at least a hundred pounds. I wonder if he could have been subdued simply by their weight. Five people on top of you is a quarter of a ton of weight. Probably more.

Even a guy with a gun can't look in every direction at once, and can be distracted. It is probable he wasn't special ops, or anything very well trained. Just a schmuck with a rifle.

Those people just didn't THINK. They had no unity and no leadership.

They also did not realize they were going to die anyway, so they had nothing to lose. It is hard to see that. That has to be assumed, however. It's usually true.

Bleh.

AS my dad always taught me, there is no bluffing in life or death circumstances, only will and resolve to continue forward. A happy gun is a loaded gun.
