If anyone should be pissed, it's the military. These people sign up to give their life for the country, and their votes are used to manufacture a Biden win?
That's not right...
(Referring to the fact that many counties experienced extreme voter irregularities with military ballots. 90%+ coming in for Biden. Which is very unlikely seeing as Trump protects the military and funds them very well.)
This is anecdotal, but it's funny, I'm active duty, I voted, and tried to get everyone to vote, but so many didn't. All kinds of excuses. And they supported Trump. I don't know a single member of the military who supported biden, but they didn't step up from what I saw.
Either way, I suspect you'd follow orders, no matter who you voted for. It's your job. Right now Trump ( maybe FEMA) is in charge. Military will follow their orders
I'm not in a position where any orders will put me into a path of harming civilians. As far as those who are, it's not how you want to think. It's true they follow orders, but they aren't going to simply flip a switch and become the third reich or whatever. I think democrats are playing a longer game to overtake the military through attrition, and promoting libs. The military is most certainly mostly conservative, but it's already in process, and for a while now, that recruiters have quotas to meet regarding the "type" of new recruits to bring in.
Why would any civilians get harmed now? Unless they were rising up against the national guard, and even then I would suspect they would do all the can to avoid casualtys. Either way. Trump currently is in charge of the Military (or FEMA with trump's people)
I mean, it could be as easily as a curfew being enforced with the NG that causes interactions. For the public, all they have to do is say they have intelligence indicating an imminent threat of attack. Internally, it is sold that a curfew is justified to keep the peace until whatever threat is forced to retreat silently and for lack of resource to maintain whatever advancing positions they held.
Pences.speech to the 10th mountain division last night he was emphatic to them in the speech that Americans were " behind them all the way"...code for they are not the enemy.
A lot of the people I know in service (or formerly in service) have a rather jaded view: fucking around with military ballots isn't new, and they kind of expect it. They also expect politicians to play politics with/on them, so they're kinda jaded about that too. Also, the oath isn't to any particular political party, and many really are very apolitical.
Personal experience: Uncle Sam owns your ass; you really don't have a say in the matter. That being said, indifference is perhaps far better than partisanship in this instance.
I spoke with one today...he told me the military (Army) hates Biden and that some friends were at the capitol becaue they were forced to be there...they hate him and don't like it.
