Maybe... I think establishment Republicans have more in common with "centrist" Democrats. It will be interesting to see what gets passed from Biden's stimulus plan. If it actually taxes the rich I will be shocked. And I mean like raise the capital gains tax, not the usual game of Dem's get power and raise the top income tax to 40% then R's gain power and lower it to 35%. They both act like they've done something afterwards.
Raising the capital gains tax results in taxing the working class/middle class person the most.
-Person Works for a business; pays 25% income tax to the feds
-Person invests some of his hard earned previously taxed income and then pays another 35% tax on his investment gains
-Rich Guy doesn't work
-Rich guy pays a 35% tax on his investment gains
Not my issue, but it will be interesting how much of what Biden promised the Bernie campaign actually sees the light of day.
Personally, I think the bigger problem is how corrupted the whole thing has become. They can claim to raise taxes on all of us and then have backdoors for their buddies and favored industries. The closer to one tax with as few deductions and exceptions as possible would be best.
Also, the way the federal reserve operates now is a bigger driver of wealth inequality. Liberals have no problem with that if they're the ones picking who gets all the money.
It's always the same old bullshit. They "raise" taxes on the rich and then crow about how they're for the little guy, and then they turn right around and give all sorts of tax loopholes to the rich to get out of paying those taxes, and the gullible sheep fall for it every single time.
They're just setting themselves up to be controlled opposition again.
That's where they are comfortable. Powerless and pathetic
Yes, their message will be: "Donate to us so we can stop the democrats"
To piggyback your statement: their role is pretending to fight while being perpetual losers.
