After I woke up and walked away from the left I had this same feeling. Just lighter. Freer. Happier. True story, I dropped over 60 pounds since then, too. Nearly to my goal weight. :-)
Facebook has me sucked in. I have several of my businesses that are totally reliant on FB. But I am changing that shit as fast as I can. I am moving everything back to websites. And If I lose the businesses. So be it.
Yeah, the businesses are a challenge. Especially because Google ranks FB, Twitter IG results. What a racket. AND we've spent $$ to get a footprint on the platforms. I'm rethinking everything. F' them
If I don't advertise (pay) Google for advertising to the tune of $1000+ per month in pay for click budget i disappear from the searches until page 4 or 5. But magically even though I have the most and the highest reviews in my category in the area, no pay no show
I have a small web app I'm removing the feature that lets FB users login. I'm giving my users ample time to migrate to an email-based account but I cannot wait until my deadline hits and I can remove that FB shit from my app.
Unfortunately 2 years ago I migrated the app to AWS and I rely on AWS services like DynamoDB so migrating away from AWS will be much harder.
Biggest mistake I made was getting back on Facebook when Covid started.
I got rid of it in 2012 out of small pieces of privacy concerns coming out when I was just a high schooler, and came back like a dumbass after I'd seen everything was true.
It's been cool seeing a lot of people, I enjoy the specialized groups like for Harley's and specific cars, but other than that it's shit.
Instagram I got rid of almost 5 years ago too. Not much there.
For me it's a weird case. I almost want to just go off the radar again and not be bothered and focus on myself, on the other hand I almost find it to be like duty to start red pilling people online. Or perhaps offline through social movements.
I've been off the FaceButt reservation for several years myself and still have the same conflict: would love to just flood it with dank memes on the daily but the site is just full blown AIDS with a side of cancer.
Wasn't much of a Fakebook user. It was just a tool to stay in touch with some Pro-Trump groups and family/friends. I never saw the value to be honest. The site feels like a big Jerry Springer forum and I have no regrets closing my account.
I gave up social media years ago, but over the summer I did a complete media detox. I stopped coming here and other forums, I didn't follow the news or any political content, all I did was work, workout, hike, read and spend time with my family. We all have this idealized vision of our perfect selves if we got rid of all our bad habits and actualized our potential. I actually became that person for a few months. I want to go back to it, but it's too easy for this crazy world to suck you in.
This whole covid lockdown has been great for me getting buff. I can't go out jogging with all the people and I can't breathe in a mask. So I just stay home, lift, and shit post all day. I dropped 40 lbs, which is pretty amazing.
Never had FB. Luckily my wife is based as well so besides some colleagues I don’t see many liberals. The only anoying thing is television and online newspapers. You just can’t run through the channels or just catch-up on the news without being frustrated by these fuckers.

Congrats on your losses! 60 lbs is nuthin' to sneeze at!
Thanks, fren! I can hardly believe it myself.
“Listen here, fat!” 👈🏻 I would have paid attention 😂
Double that, congrats. Your doing fantastic!
Thank you! ☺️
Feels pretty good.

I’m 3 days off FB. It is liberating.
Darn right and say no to chin diapers!

I am 29, I haven't used Facebook or twitter once. I stopped social media when myspace died.
And you are in the top 1% of 29 year olds for intelligence!
