I use NKJV because I find it to be the most overall accurate combo of [words used with modern definitions] and [word for word translation rather than idea for idea]
Daniel 11
Daniel is shown things which will occur concerning the rulership of the world, and, in particular, 2 Kingdoms: Greece & Persia.
I think these two Kingdoms, today, are what we call the West (ruled by the Vatican) and Islam (ruled currently by Iran, aka Persia). That these kingdoms would be defined religiously as opposed to current day definitions makes some good sense.
Greece -> Rome -> Roman Catholic Church
You can read through chapter 11 and see the crusades, deals made between Vatican and Islam (Muhammad), etc... Google Walter Veith for historical analysis on these points if you really want a deep dive.
What I'm focused upon, though, is when the King of the North sets up a rulership which imposes taxes on the whole world.
[Dan 11:20 NKJV] 20 "There shall arise in his place one who imposes taxes [on] the glorious kingdom; but within a few days he shall be destroyed, but not in anger or in battle.
You see, this happens directly after the North takes many coastlands (colonization) and there is a reproach against them (USA?) - they maintain power through taxes, which, as many of you know, is essentially how the current monetary system works.
Is the Vatican in charge of it all? Look it up for yourself frankly, but we may be about to find out.
Daniel states that "Taxes Regime" will fall within a few days, without war, because a "vile" or "reviled" person who "they will not give the honor of royalty" will seize the kingdom "by intrigue" (secret plans)
[Dan 11:21 NKJV] 21 "And in his place shall arise a vile person, to whom they will not give the honor of royalty; but he shall come in peaceably, and seize the kingdom by intrigue.
He will "become great with [the small] people" and do something no one has done before; that is, to distribute the riches (which he looted from the stronghold) among them [the small people]
[Dan 11:23-24 NKJV] 23 "And after the league [is made] with him he shall act deceitfully, for he shall come up and become strong with a small [number of] people. 24 "He shall enter peaceably, even into the richest places of the province; and he shall do [what] his fathers have not done, nor his forefathers: he shall disperse among them the plunder, spoil, and riches; and he shall devise his plans against the strongholds, but [only] for a time.
Are things developing in this manner? We shall see...
Oh yeah, and afterward, it says he's gonna go to war against the South, Persia (Iran) and win easily.
