When I was a young Marine back in 2004 I deployed to Afghanistan. When we first got there we flew in to Kandahar and stayed there for about a week before moving out into the country. I remember the night before we were about to leave the wire. I couldn't sleep and felt like I was going to throw up. Right now just being an American is the only other time I've ever felt anything close to that feeling in my life.
First of all, thank you for your service. America's military is the finest in the world. I can't believe they are just going to turn over and give up. Military commanders know what is going on. Don't lose hope, my friend. God has given to all men a full measure of faith. It is darkest right before the dawn.
