Title says it all. I've worked in the civilian world a couple years, then got bored and went to fly jets. It is awesome leading dudes into war. Cant get into all of it, but things were very tense until Trump got elected then things got immediately better. Less risk of being shot down by surface to air missiles and the daily encounters with other adversary jets decreased.
Came back and things were good. Then in the last few years the little "fighter" culture that we had left was taken from us. "No more songs.... your callsign is offensive change it.... your squadron bar has to be designated as a heritage room with only certain people having access to it.... no offensive jokes... no offending anyone for any reason.... if a person files a complaint for being harrased for putting his hat on the bar, then the offender is removed and presumed guilty"
We have a stressful and fast paced job, it's not for everyone, everyone has known bros that died. Personally, depending on the mission or training I have a near death experience about every other week. Same with everyone else at my work. We are more like a football team than an office. We do dangerous stuff and are highly skilled. It is very fun and exciting, so why the pilot shortage????
Because we can make more money being a buss driver for the airlines, and the political bullshit isn't worth making 1/3 of what you get on the outside..... we are gone probably half the year with TDYs and when home, we are the only people on base working 12 to 14 hr days. (Besides Maintenance, those dudes are overworked like crazy) then we cant even get finance to help us because they work 930 to 1530 with an hour lunch break. Same with Comm, and CE the building has been leaking for the last 8 months but "sorry, not on our list yet".... dudes have timers on their computers to see exactly how many hours we waste per day just waiting on the gov web page to open.....
Government ruins everything it touches. With how retarted the government is getting, I see no end to the PC bullshit. Only an increase, and even more cultural training stuff on the horizon. How do you make people quit the best job in the world..... make their life miserable.
Currently I am working on 3 different avenues to generate passive income. As well as creating a right wing GoFundMe, but I am not a nerd and know nothing about computers. Haha so it is hard finding tech people who are right wing, especially since this censorship, it kinda killed that plan. So I am having to restart.
Anyway, I dont know what this rant was about. But I thought I would share it with you pedes. Since I'm sure it is the same at your workplace.
RAGE
Yes, blind rage at the injustice. Me too. I was a 26xx Cryptologic Analyst in Marines. I am an electrical engineer now. Most of my work, unknown to me while doing it, has contributed to the current hellscape.
I sometimes think a few high altitude nuke bursts to generate an EMP to destroy the techno-tyranny I helped create would be the best thing that could happen.
Dont know anything about that fancy stuff, but totally agree. I could go back to farming and ranching and be totally happy.
I would. I want nothing to do with the airlines anymore. They are always boom and bust. Tons of PC bullshit. Women in aviation. Black pilots association, gay pilots association. Who fucking cares!
Well, I care; I wouldn't want an affirmative action pilot.
commercial pilots are already at higher risk of suicide because of the workload, and politics of their airlines; why would I want an Alphabet person with even higher risk of suicide doing that job, risking my life for an overpriced, uncomfortable flight... just sayin'
At this point, I'd only ever get private charter flights.
The airlines love affirmative action pilots. Women and minorities get hired before others. Women pilots generally suck as pilots. Especially the ones that were flight attendants and went back to school to be pilots. Scatter brain morons.
Not to mention the flaming poofters and grizzled battlechrones dominating "attendants". I much prefer east asian airlines.
Ding. Old grizzled gestapo FA's are the worst. United is among the worst IMO. I've had ok luck with American but the service on US airlines is a joke.
As a passenger I’d rather drive most of the time than put up with FAs and airport fucktards. I don’t know how commercial pilots do it.
The pilots have a bit more legroom and better windows...
We close the door and don't have to hear from them most often. The van ride too and from the airport is sometimes unbearable with their chatter. Never fuck an FA. They are drama and crazy people.
Or middle eastern
Nah not been impressed by me.
Quatar airways was the best experience I've had.
GET OUT NOW. Biden is going to send troops back to the Middle East ASAP. GET OUT!!!!!
Is that where CCP wants them?
Bankers need their war in Iran or Syria
I'm sure PedoJoe will send our troops wherever the CCP demands it!
Russia. China wants the continent for themselves. Beiden will make sure they use US troops to do it.
Russia is not full of retards. I don't want our guys to get chewed up.
People forget how close we were in 2016 with Hillary. They were lining it up before she lost. I'm guessing China and Israel see a US-Russia conflict as a good thing and push their US assets accordingly. I think everyone wants out, no one wants to fight for Harris or a dementia patient.
I'm sorry to say that fighting Russians anywhere near Russia would be catastrophic. I'd like to think someone in authority could learn from history, but, let's look at who we're dealing with.
Enormous amounts of people including patriots would die. Read the book "One second After"
Uhmmm, that's a novel. A work of fiction, just like Jurassic Park or Andromeda Strain. All things electrical wouldn't stop working...mainly just unshielded densely integrated silicon. Like cell-phones and unshielded computers.
People need to stop being pussies.
It was a good book, but Kurt Schlichter’s Kelly Turnbull books are much more enjoyable (and, sadly, more realistic)
I love that book
You first then.
verile isn't a word pede. Unless you mean sterile, in which case, thank god.
A massive solar flare would be equivalent to the EMPs you talk about. Solar cycle 25 started in Sept. of 2020. The next predicted maximum for solar flare activity is in July 2025. Between now and then, we could experience the destruction of the techno-tyranny that you so hope for.
https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/solar-cycle-25-is-here-nasa-noaa-scientists-explain-what-that-means
Having read One Second After numerous times, an EMP truly would be... the end.
U realize thats a novel right? A work of fiction, just like other apocalyptic sci-fi zombie novels. I trust my 30 years of electrical engineering-fu more than sci-fi novels.
Electricity is a thing, not magic.
Yes, time to get out. It's about to get really bad there.
That is kinda how it is feeling.
Trust me when I say, they will send you out to hostile territory without any means of defense just because they don't want to offend people. Been there, done that....
Heard about some of those kinds of patrols. They may as well put you in a fancy suit and force you to walk through downtown Detroit alone.
At least in Detroit, you have a fighting chance.
Looser ROEs.
Syria is right up on Biden's radar for the first involvement to "fix" the middle east from what Trump did. Funny thing is everyone agrees what a good job he did there.
Any chance the new peace deals could prevail and call out any fuckery as bullshit? Ie if they both know it's false flags, could they unite and keep the peace?
There will be much fuckery and much bullshit over "muh Russia" to distract from China corruption and capitalize over Ukraine. I guess if Ukraine grows some balls and are public about what is going on it would help to know what really is going on but Biden will punish them. As for China, I think the only country who will be 100% open is Taiwan, unless Australia wakes up and becomes more vocal about being bought up by the CCP.
Imagine if in 1944 we sent troops into Berlin without guns or tanks so we wouldn't scare the locals.
I fear I see no way out of this. If only people knew just how bad it really was.
Trump was our last shot at saving America...
It would be very funny because Berlin was conquered by the russian in the '45. The american troops arrived in Berlin when the war was already over.
As long as you're alive, there's still hope.
Feel lucky I served most of my term under Ronny. No PC culture then and chicks weren't allowed on the boats.
gone are the days
Its tome to leave because once they find every non-liberal in the service they will start sending you off on suicide mission until you don't come back.
That is if they don't just straight arrest you for "disloyalty."
Its time to walk away and let America burn, TDS and liberalism killed it dead, its the shambling corpse of Uncle Sam with a swastikas carved in its forehead.
Prior Navy Aviation here. I have the same idea for a right wing GoFundme, best route is with crypto currency.
I'm pretty sure they are shoving all that PC crap into the military to get you all to quit. Sure would be easy to defeat us with a bunch of trannies on watch.
Former Army FO. Hooah.
Building the decentralized Internet, worked for the worlds largest cloud.
PM me.
Pretty much why I left the military...among other reasons. The whole thing is do as I say not as I do with a shit ton of out of touch leaders making insane decisions from behind a desk or while flying around giving speeches like a corporate exec.
I wasn't in combat but even engagement and reporting policies were so assanign that idk how you ever would fight if you were attacked without worrying about some twat waffle trying to court martial you while making 100k safe behind a desk in DC.
Seems like only spec ops fights and your type (fighter pilots) fight any war at all other than dust bunnies.
Agreed, I see so many "leaders" who are only in that position because they play the game.... not because they are effective or smart.
When forced to go to leadership training with some of those people... jesus....you really understand how one person cam ruin a team.
For the most part in my community, we see a problem, analyze the problem, come up with solutions and contingencies based on a foundational understanding of our tactics. Then execute the plan....at the leadership courses some of the other people just want to charge nugget first in one direction even before knowing where to go.... or sit there forever and do nothing.
The worst were the ones who were 100% by the books, all the time, forever... i cant stand that shit. If a small deviation is required to get my guys home earlier or give them a better day. Every leader with a brain should do that.
Thank you for your service. I have a lot of friends that fly for the airlines and while the money is very tempting many if not most are miserable. QoL is everything. I really appreciate your service and hope you'll stay rather than let the bureaucrats win, but I no nothing of what it's like.
Damn, it's like corporate america has taken over the military. All the bullshit you just described is like how every big company is right now. Everything is broken because of this stupid PC culture of demonizing the problem solvers.
Where is the motivation for this stupidity coming from? Woke-indocrinated morons filtering into the military after being brainwashed by the school system? Pressure from woke politicians? Is it the effect of letting women into the service?
It's one thing in a corporation where most tasks are useless makework and meetings, who cares if they waste most of their time on woke bullshit. But when the lives of the people doing the work depend on actually getting shit done, it's insanity to waste effort and handicap people's ability to function for this sjw bullshit.
And who are they trying to impress exactly? Do they think congress will allocate more money to defense if they play the woke game? It makes no sense.
My uncle was a West Point grad, spent a around 25 years in, and retired a Colonel O6. Class of 1962, so you can imagine what his time was like. I was, in my youth, planning on following in his footsteps. I had the grades scores, and the letter of recommendation from my Representative.
He told me to never, ever, join the military during peace time unless you enjoy "giant mountains of horseshit".
Wise man, my bros and I have spoken a bunch about how a real shooting war would get rid of the majority of this problem.
I have a nephew that joined the Airforce right out of High School. His goal is to get his 20 years. If you have ten in, the benefits of slogging it out another ten are consequential. Insurance, pension, discounted loans, access to the commissary etc.
Thanks Obama
In what? And how do I start?
Don’t leave, fuck any of the faggots who say otherwise.
The problem with conservatives is the constant institutional retreat. If we lose the fucking military we’re screwed.
Lol. America isn't free because of the military.
No but when we lose the military they will use the military on us and our loved ones, and to keep red states from leaving this bullshit union.
Chair Force? I was in the Chair Force over a decade ago before the SJW's took it over. I've heard it's gone to complete shit. I also had to work long days, no 3 day weekends for me.
I'm one of those hyper nerds that gravitate to the USAF so I could probably help out on any tech needs you have. Just send me a private message and I would be happy to help as best I can.
It was pretty faggy under Clinton.
I was in during the hay day for the War On Terror, got the ribbons to prove it.
It really went downhill fast starting in 2011. And I don’t know what a 3 day weekend is. I was in from 08-15 and never saw anything like that. I usually went in 1-2 Saturdays each month to handle admin bullshit in peace and quiet.
Dear God don’t get me started on the FOBs that started showing up in my squadron in 2012-? They completely neutered basic training around that time and it showed.
I did Basic a few years after 9/11 and things were pretty heated back then, Iraq war was bumping. Two people died in Basic when I was around, they did get flags at their funerals at least.
I worked on average 100+ hours a week, no over time of course.
This is part of the plan to weaken out country.
Who do you think is in command in the military?
Do a staff tour to increase rage. Magical 20 years mark seems further away each day.
Dude sorry, staff is where life goes to die.
staff = overdose on blackpill. Bureaucrats taken over every single government entity and destroyed everything.
But you can go have a drink in a sq bar with like-minded people (verity they are not just yes man). At least vent a little.
Civil service are the worst at staff . I have never seen such bad attitudes, they know they just have to wait out the next officer duty tour and run those bases and posts like kingdoms. hated it.
Defense contractor here we poach anyone decent. Upper echelons are only political animals.
username checks out
Former airman here whose final tour was in a HQ unit. Felt like those dementors in the Harry Potter movies - sucking your soul until you become a lifeless husk. (Sorry for going into nerd mode there)
The civilian employees mixed in the units “managing”’ shit make it so much worse, too.
SES is the WORST thing ever created in the federal government. Not to mention that well over 90% of the GS people I worked with were the worse slackers, and were protected by their union.
Critical Race Theory seems to be the new official ideology of the elites and they’re pushing it into everywhere in private companies and government.
The place to stop this would have been at the academic level, but there’s an inherent problem with academia which is that they’re always trying to be “progressive” and they are too lacking in skepticism. Furthermore, people don’t take the insane nonsense at universities seriously, it gets ignored, because too many people fail to realize that it later gets pushed out to elites, the press, and everywhere else.
So the necessary battles in academia are ignored by people who just want to do their narrow field of study, and anyone in an appropriate field is too outnumbered to provide pushback. There is also the “stupid people with money” problem with research funding which biases what happens.
I’m not sure what to recommend, but I bet you picked up some skills that might not occur to you yet.
I consider myself tech person who is right wing. I would love to be part of creating some gofundme that isn’t worried about pc bs. I have a couple of other friends who could join in too. If there is a way to connect I wouldn’t mind even if nothing is solid yet.
I’m building the decentralized Internet. Former Army FO, worked at the worlds largest cloud. PM me.
Tried to pm u wasn't working
Your decentralized project sounds interesting. Do martech. Would be interested in decentralized gofundme project powered by crypto. Are u familiar w/ dfinity.org aka the internet computer?
Excellent!
To give you an example of the tech being used, here is https://blog.space.storage/posts/Introducing-Space
Which is an entire stack or building decentralized applications and services.
Adding https://www.3box.io/products/storage will help with the Decentralized Identity (DiD) privacy layer.
Keep in touch! CB
Fact. People are lined up around the block wanting to be fighter jocks.
A completely centralized military to bomb more citizens without question.
Stick it out, we need Patriots on these jobs. The liberals are chasing conservatives out of every branch of government. HOLD THE LINE FREN
The liberals are the ones running every branch of government, and will come put you in camps using soldiers who simply obey their commands.
Happens in every single communist country ever.
Starting reading wondering if you were larping, then read the part about CE and was like yep he's for real...
Thank you for your service pede. Sorry it's gotten to where it is.
I wanted to fly grey jets, but I’m on the civilian side. I’m sure that you’re aware of Kara Hultgreen; that is going to start happening substantially more often. Crew chiefs will be the result of a diversity competition. Are you sure that mx will ground a jet, if they have to make a call against “special” mechanics? I don’t think that this is going to happen, immediately, but, eventually, it will worth more to maintain the diversity quota, than to make sure that they don’t over Iran, with an engine that’s about to have an uncontained failure.
I worry about this stuff, too, heading into 121. Pilots went to ANG after they were furloughed, but they’re not planning on flying commercially, ever again. I’m more or less resigned to the fact that I’m never going to see the flight deck of a turbofan. All of the people that I want to haul around, won’t be able to use it, and if I wanted to be a communist mover, I’d go to China.
Congratulations on your career, though. Most of my hours are in a shitbox 172. Other pedes, flying is fun, but flying fighters is brutally hard physical work. You’re doing maneuvers at 7-9 g’s, while also moving your head, left to right. You’re putting 100% of your being into keeping the blood in your head, but you also have a 40,000 lb jet to control.
They've attempted to make the military a corporation since '08... Stripped heritage away and forced all types of feelings and social equality training/meetings. Suicides have gone way up and they can't for the life of them figure out why.
No resiliency in younger people, constant down days to talk about feelings and why the military isn't doing everything for them. Nothing to differentiate my unit from yours, songs, chants morale patches all gone! No unit pride, just people in uniform being constantly pushed to express feelings and to out any perceived wrong think or "mean" supervisor...
News flash... We aren't a corporation and we don't fucking wanna be one. Good leadership is so fucking hard to find and so many toxic fucks that want to chase equality and racial disparities and every fucking turn, especially in promotions. I can't pick the best person and push them, nope gotta submit diverse promotees to leadership... It doesn't happen every time but fuck when it does everyone knows, even the diversity push doesn't want it because they know to.
I've dealt with two transgender over the past five years as well. They are usually removed from their job if it's physical labor... Say, aircraft maintenance. They sit at a desk while they transition to a different gender and usually stay behind a desk after. I don't care what you want to do with your life but if you can't perform your job then the military should help you out appropriately. Both of the guys that transitioned were really nice and easy to get along with but damn it's difficult to manage and deal with. Shouldn't happen or be allowed on Uncle Sam's dime and time, and I'm not sorry for how I feel.
Very well said. The military is not a corporation, it has a completely different mission and motivation.
Morale and pride are crucial, and it will fail without them.
If Trump is given a second term, you will see radical change for the better. The revelation of critical race theory opened the door wide open as to what problems may exist in our services.
But that's all been tabled for the moment for obvious reasons. I wouldn't waste time if Biden is forced in. Get out and get out as fast as you can.
So I worked out in Korea with a few F16 pilots and most were great guys. I was enlisted but my career field (and low golf handicap) got me in with a lot of them. I'm now in a position to help with your next endeavor. I don't know how to dm or anything like that but if you do contact me and maybe I can help.
Damn dude, the USAF sound even gayer than it was under Slick Willie. I was aircrew taxi for the Triple Nickel and 510th back during Kosovo and Operation: Deny Lewinsky and I thought y’all had it MADE with the squadron bars and gyms (I’d work out in while y’all were on sorties haha) and watching the badass BDA tapes (yeah I’m old now) was the best. It sucks that the tip of the spear is getting so shit on. I don’t blame you wanting to leave. If you have to work a shitty job you might as well make more money not getting shot at.
Fuckin’ bummer.
Yo... I was just a kid but Aviano was the shit. 95-98 here.
I miss the Hole in the Wall. The pizza there was outstanding.
There was a pizzeria in Giais that had the absolute best calzones I've ever had. I think it was called Al Castagna or La Castagna...something like that. I can't find it on a map anymore so maybe it doesn't exist these days.
my work quietly introduced a wrongthink and wrongspeak document to our company. its happening all over tech, not just silicon valley. you can't say whitepaper to refer to technical essays, you cant say brownbag to refer to a lunch meeting, you cant say "long time no see" because it might offend an asian, you cant say "mumbo jumbo" because that offends some obscure african religion, you cant say "parent/child" relationship because that refers to the patriarchy, you cant say "master branch" which is an industry term for anything code based, etc etc etc etc. the document is 15 pages long with words and reasons why you cant use them anymore. funny thing is, half of them have no explanations... just: NO!
please please please EMP
Thanks for recognizing the maintainers efforts. I was in maintenance myself for nine years. Loved working F-16s, but there are easier ways to qualify for food stamps and the politics were a major drag on morale.
Just about everyone I know who is enlisted or otherwise in the forces hates it now due to culture and knowing full well we will be at war with Iran or some other proxy state in about a year or so. Plus the PC bullshit or not being able to voice themselves at all in their down time for fear of extreme retribution.
Can confirm. I want to quit the tech industry. The liberals have ruined it for me and many others.
Dude, MAF bro here, i am right there with you. Looking to pick up my atp this next assignment but gonna hold off pulling the handle to see how deep the coming dempression is. Culture, what the fuck is that, i go to work do my shit and leave. Squadron functions and parties nope, im a fucking ghost.
I am a tech guy, I have a degree in computer science and have been programming for 15 years, come to Denmark sometime, let's talk.
It use to be the private airlines was a good alternative after the air force, but the wages paid now are just as high as they were 20-30 years ago. If you are a pilot, why do you also have to do the maintenance?
I was happy to get out for many of the same reasons after 13 years. I was on track to make E-9, but had more lucrative opportunities elsewhere. One of my squadron mates was literally sent home early from the desert for telling a bunch of grunts to, and I quote “sit the fuck down” inside of a loud C-130. The crew was trying to take off and the grunts were taking their sweet time. The troop commander of the the group was offended and complained to our commander which led to my squadron mate getting an early return from his deployment.
I don’t think people realize that our military is starting to suffer heavily from “woke” culture as well.
I watched a whole BONE crew get Q3’d, sent home from SWA for retraining, and had their careers ruined because they dared to cross into the 5nm buffer on the border of Pakistan in support of a TIC. This was in summer 2012 during peak Obama bullshit.
Those guys knew what would happen to them and they chose to provide air support anyway because American soldiers’ lives were in danger. And they got a big blue dick up their asses because why, they made Pakistan nervous? Spare me the strategic gobbledygook you fucking corporate suits with stars on your shoulders. That shit would have never happened with GEOTUS as CinC.
If you stay, make sure it isn’t out of loyalty. They will toss you under the bus as casually as they sip their lattes in the pentagon.
The marines have been actively "diversifying" who gets promotions. Literally promoting based on race.
Its all here
https://patch.com/florida/dunedin/bp--the-four-steps-for-american-subversion-5985fc5a
Personally, I love you for your service. No homo. My dad was (*IS) a marine, but I decided to work on the home front. We the people have your back. They the sheeple, will stick a finger in your crack.
*Edit - My Dad never stopped being a patriot. You do all of us an honor, and we will always have your back. God Bless.
They will replace you with someone who is more compliant. Hence their urge to bring in diversity and inclusion.
Two Same.
Thinking about dropping it all and picking up crop-dusting. At least I'll be in a red state.
Stay there, be a patriot. Once the maintenance crew is compromised and unable to keep jets in the air, it’s time to consider leaving. Maybe switch to guard or reserve so you aren’t fully dependent on the govt for a living.
Keep your military skills up to date though, please. We may need you for the up-and-coming civil war.
I can't really comment as I was in over 20 years ago. But someone in the Air Force who was full-on motivated Patriot messaged me and said that the AF is nothing but diversity and LGBT propaganda now, and he's getting out. This person went enlisted from a very high paying civilian job and has a master's.
Our military ROE's are exactly like our arms treaties with russia and agreements like the paris accord. It is us enforcing rules on ourselves that only hurt us and make us less effective while allowing the enemy - forcing them in fact - to have full control of the narrative and propaganda.
Captain Quinn Afghanistan
Stay in, get as high as you can. The cucking has only happened because based people got out while cucks gobbled up all the staffer positions. They have to be displaced. Leaving doesn't help.
Leave it.
At least for 4 years. Tim Kennedy (search) is cool, he's a Green beret who left when Obama was in charge then came back when Trump was in because the military was better taken care of.
The top guys don't care about the soldiers under the coming DNC administration. Just their bottom line... Don't to risk your life for that shit.
Find other options meanwhile, employment-wise. Just view your current departure as a temporary measure.
Although, if you stay in, it could still make a meaningful difference for the country if shit really hits the fan.
I'm not in so I don't know; but I'd say: If you can get back in easily, try going to the civilian sector for a while and re-evaluate.
So nailed this.
My humble random internet opinion, Stay in and don't abandon all your good men under you to even worse leadership. More that leave due to bullshit the worse it gets. Think of it as a "duty" to fellow soldiers if I can get away with saying that to a random individual whose certainly done his duty already. A duty where you put up with bs in order to maintain what little bit of antibullshit you can in your little circle. Even if it's a losing battle, I believe it to be one worth fighting
Fighter pilots aren’t leaders in command of troops so much as highly-speciaized operators with badass killing machines strapped to their asses. The USAF is the only branch that sends its officers into battle first while the enlisted stay safe in the rear (unless you’re Pararescue or a Combat Controller or some shit).
Hey, I was one of those maintainers and understand how you feel.
You sound like you were a cool pilot to work with, very rare IMO.
Warheads on foreheads.
