For sure that is why I keep an open mind either way. He is no doubt a genius and he does say some quite based things. I mentioned I don’t think SU is all bad and yes many people that speak there are just interested in technology (although most are liberals that think they can solve everyone’s problems with out asking what the common man actually wants himself aka socialists) however Elon is creating Neuralink and while he may use it for good, I see this going the wrong way in the future. I am hesitant to trust anyone that thinks we should upgrade the brain, just because we can do it does not mean we should.

I am a big fan of B2CI. I see it as the ultimate end to the elites. When millions or billions of people can communicate with the speed of thought, contain access to the same mega libraries of data, and each have their own perspective on problem solving... So tackling a problem with a multitude of augmented minds you are going to see an outcome of streamlined solutions with minimal blowback. It decentralizes power and makes it unattainable for the few, putting it in the hands of the many. I do not think this will make us drones as a sense of self, will, curiosity, and wonderment are VERY necessary in order to create real potential for the mind. There are some people in this world with very high IQ's, but do not add to progress in the way that those with lower IQ's (but still above average) do simply because they lack that curiosity, and vision. Musk isn't the smartest guy, but he is making huge wave because he has his own perspective and vision. I highly think will, a sense of self, and curiosity are highly needed in order to push us forward even with Augmented Intelligence.
The first 3-4 Generations of Neuralink are all going to be focused on medical. After that it is going to get very interesting.
The Technological Singularity is vastly deep, and it is easy to have concerns with many things in and around it. However, this is why I tell anyone I discuss this stuff with to not just dip your toes in, but dive the fuck in. It is deep, and going deep in it helps answer a lot of questions. That doesn't mean there won't be a bumpy road. I a quite sure of there being a bumpy road, but I think there is a brighter future ahead... So long as we don't lose Capitalism. China is a direct threat to the world and to its future.
We will see. I imagine it more of a world where the rich upgrade their brains and leave the lower class unable to compete. I think you have more faith in humanity then I do. I hope you are right of course and I am wrong.
