Saturday night an idiot T boned us with a capital T, had it been a lowercase t I’d probably be dead as the passenger. He ran a red light going an estimated 70 mph in a 35 and managed to take out a power line pole. All happened within a split second, and all parties are okay, but still reflecting on how precious our lives and the lives of our loved ones are, could all be gone in a split second. And get this, it was clearly his fault, haven’t gotten the full report should be available tomorrow. 3 eyewitnesses gave their accounts and yet my g/f who was driving got breathalyzed first, my car got towed last, he gave false insurance information, just discovered that today, AND he skated with afaik a $150 red light ticket while having a suspended license. We’ll see what happens, all the first responders and cops were extremely kind as were the bystanders, but the cops really did a bang up job on this one didn’t even bother to cross reference plates with the make/model of the vehicle. I’ve never been through this so I can’t stop thinking about it. Thank God we are for the most part ok. Probably mild delusion to politicize this, but the person at fault gets away with a slap on the wrist with a long rap sheet, this is Biden’s America already. It’s infuriating but I’m also thinking about how fleeting our lives are. Anyhow, sorry if that last sentence is inappropriate, I take more from this forum than I give so just wanted to say thanks and be happy I’m give to give my 2 cents every once in a while.

Wow! Great memory, I’ll be looking into this in the coming days. Regarding the neighbors, nothing exciting, I bought them a box of chocolates and wrote a nice welcoming letter. For some reason they took all their shudders off all windows and installed a bunch of ugly solar panels all over their roof, but otherwise they’re pretty nice folks. Just as we suspected, middle aged white guilty folks. I shot off a lot of fireworks on New Year’s since I had a few friends over and they brought me a bottle of champagne and a “thanks for the display” letter. So they’re good as far as I’m concerned just misinformed, but thankfully they’ve since removed all of those signs. Thank you for asking!
Get a lawyer. Even if you have full tort and can sue don't let your insurance company be in the driver's seat. They're not necessarily looking out for you, only their financial interest in you.

This is sound advise. 70mph isn't slow. I see the airbags deployed, you should both get checked out even just to have on record. Some injuries can present themself days after. Heard from someone who got hit by an illegal immigrant in Chicago. When the police came and it came time to exchange insurance the police casually said oh they're illegal they don't have insurance. Take it up with your insurance company.
It's like WTF. If a US citizen got pulled over driving just on a suspended license they'd probably be arrested and have the car towed.
