They didn’t even make it to 2021

If you think the dems are above giving trump the John wilkes booth treatment then you may need to lay off the crack pipe.

REDMARAUDER 21 points ago +21 / -0

They've already tried most likely. Problem is the Secret Service loves the guy. I wouldn't be surprised to learn he tips random people in the White House just like he used to at his hotels

DebunkTheLeft [S] 10 points ago +10 / -0

Oh they'll try alright. Look at how many of their own they've murdered.

spezisacuckold 23 points ago +39 / -16

Trump didn’t give his all. He didn’t try to use Insurrection Act or Martial Law. Lincoln DID.

Different ages, I think Trump did try to fight using modern tactics (courts and other legal things) but it just wasn't enough.

No that pede is right, different people, not ages. Trump is a businessman and did everything a businessman can do. Warriors are a different breed of men entirely.

I’m not blaming Trump for not invoking IA/ML, I’m blaming him for not even trying.

He is the most powerful man in the world. if he has subordinates who are stubborn;he can get new subordinates.

2
Heavy_Metal_Patriot 2 points ago +2 / -0

Trump shall prevail. The IA/ML will be invoked BIGLY.

3
they-see-me-trollin 3 points ago +3 / -0

not yet anyways...

we'll know in less than 48 hours though...

2
seeyouinvalhalla 2 points ago +3 / -1

And 650,000 men died cos of Lincoln's war. Trump doesn't want that.

2
Harsh_Truth 2 points ago +2 / -0

I’d wager all 650,000 of them would do it again to be called “The United States of America.” We’ve all lost sight. God (which is why they weren’t afraid to die) Country (which is why they weren’t afraid to go to war) and family (why they weren’t afraid to volunteer at a local level. We are all pussies compared to our Great Grandfathers.

Soldiers who died or were mutilated gave their all... Right now ot seems Trump was threatened and has backed down which makes him a coward.

7
NerBolanski 7 points ago +10 / -3

Trump cucked too much and he openly tries to be liked by his enemies or people who don't vote for him. Trump 2020 campaign is a good example of why civic Natioanlsim might be great in theory but It doesn't really work in reality.

BobbittWorm 14 points ago +16 / -2

The republican party died long before Trump. Any real support for the republican party died in 2021 though.

Also, Lincoln was not a saint like many people make him out to be. Just sayin. Trump's like 100x better.

Jleinf 6 points ago +6 / -0

Trump is the opposite of Lincoln if you know the actual history

snoopy3210 13 points ago +13 / -0

Imagine auditing the ballots in 4 states (where we have the legislatures) while Biden is "president". Everybody realizes he wasn't elected. Imagine.

10
elliotle10 10 points ago +10 / -0

No...if he doesn't have one more trick up his sleeve tomorrow then he didn't do all he could to save us from this Communist takeover.

VoidWanderer 8 points ago +8 / -0

The Whigs would be proud of how much their replacements came to be just like them.

4
Jleinf 4 points ago +4 / -0

The whigs are the GOP it was just a name change Lincoln said so

8
Monetarymeerkat 8 points ago +9 / -1

Trump should have invoked the IA. There’s nothing else to lose. He’s handing this country over to it’s demise, which is very disappointing.

6
Vinnie 6 points ago +12 / -6

Sorry but I think Lincoln was wrong. He should have let the southern states secede. I mean, the hypocrisy is off the charts. Just decades ago the Declaration of Independence stated in clear terms the right of the people to withdraw from a government that they feel no longer represents them. And then we attack the South for 4 bloody years because they wanted to leave? Doesn't seem right.

the Declaration of Independence stated in clear terms the right of the people to withdraw from a government that they feel no longer represents them

Did anyone ask the slaves?

Vinnie 4 points ago +4 / -0

Fair point

1
Bongshapiro 1 point ago +3 / -2

It's actually a stupid point.

2
dingua 2 points ago +2 / -0

It’s not a stupid point at all; it vitiates the claims of the southern states to rightful self-determination.

4
Commiessuck 4 points ago +4 / -0

Lincoln knew that secession was constitutional. He really didn't want to go to war.

The thing is the Founders had wanted to abolish slavery from day one, but they knew they wouldn't have the support they needed to fight off the British. (See The Federalist Papers)

It took the sixteen Presidents to finally address the issue of slavery, and he made calls that he knew would later be justified.

The question is, what of there hadn't been a Civil War?

Would we have gone to war with the south eventually? Probably.

If not, would they still have slaves? Probably not.

Would we have one the Spanish-American War. Maybe.

Would the Brits try to take us down for the third time. Probably.

In Eden, God cursed humans with the knowledge of good and evil.

Even though Lincoln knew that the south had the right to secede, he also knew that one man owning another was evil. So he took action. And God bless him for it.

jrgreen73 4 points ago +4 / -0

What the south needed was a massive slave revolt armed and financed by the northern states.

Because I suspect the slaves felt as though their government did not represent them.

1
PinkIcculus 1 point ago +1 / -0

And how would one organize that???

Do you bring a carriage of guns into town square and send letters to the slaves to leave on their lunch break to pick one up?

1
jrgreen73 1 point ago +1 / -0

I don’t know. You would have to ask the Haitians about that. They mounted a successful slave revolt.

I changed my voter registration out of the Republican Party to No Party Affiliation. RIP GOP.

he should get a show on a shortwave radio service so he can tweet all over the world :)

Lincoln was a tyrant who invaded the south for money.

Commiessuck 2 points ago +4 / -2

My party is the one that said "No taxation without representation".

It's the one that said "give me liberty, or give me death".

It's the one that freed the slaves and saved the union.

It's the one that fought against fascism and communism, and liberated millions across the globe.

It's the one that secured rights for ALL Americans.

It's the one that advocates for the unborn.

It's the party of liberty and justice.

It's the one that keeps the shining light on the hill blazing.

I don't give a shit what you call it.

It's OUR party and if it becomes contaminated by corruption, we cut out the infection.

We don't abandon it.

Just my opinion.

I love texting “stop” to these grifters. They’re dead (As a political party, not physically dead as in killed by insurrectionists or anything like that ever and I really mean that, unless they’re legitimately hanged by a tribunal in which case I’ll feel terrible, I promise.) Maybe I donate a bouquet for their memorial.

I encourage everyone to look back before moving forward and discover what organizations and interest groups were involved in the formation of the Republican Party in the first place. The local GOP in my area drew from local community leaders and farmers in their initial draft for candidates pre-civil war. My great great grandfather was one of those local leaders and I intend to do the same not on the basis of party but on my principles which are the same as his were. Equality of opportunity, familial piety, strengthening the social fabric, and faith.

I have news for Trump or any other politician that is going to try to convert presidential support into an income. Dont. I won't support you if you fail me. I have already checked out of most media outlets and I will only continue to further check out. I am considering quitting my job and selliing both of my houses and just moving somewhere remote with lots of equipment and just squat until they arrest me. I am tired of participating in society. Tired of all the racial bullshit.

But the slave states were not evil?

3
Jleinf 3 points ago +4 / -1

The civil war had nothing to do with slavery it was about taxation without representation and federal cronyism/ overreach

2
jrgreen73 2 points ago +2 / -0

Either the slave states were evil for practicing slavery or the slave states were not evil for practicing slavery. Which is it.

Roll 3 points ago +3 / -0

The same will happen to our children's children when the American flag is consider evil and homophobic and saying the word faggot is great sin like the n word and their children will be scared to fly the America flag because it is deemed too racist/homophobia whatever. They will tear down statues of our founder father and dig up and remove their graves because they were evil whites because the northern sates had slave also and did not go far enough to cleanse themselves in other words.. forever a deplorable.
