I don't think that they are confused about from whom the troops take their orders (Commander-in-Chief), just concerned that there might be confusion as to whom is the Commander-in-Chief when an illegitimate leader assumes the helm, because we take our oath to defend the U.S. Constitution and pledge to our flag, unlike other countries whose allegiance is demanded to persons in power instead of principles.
