Not sure about Mexico, but knowing Trudeau has in fact invited them for “winter training exercises” I wouldn’t doubt that China would use Canada to their advantage. One day they’ll invade Alaska, like in the Fallout universe.

Try a 5.8 x 21mm cartridge.
They look very much like Type 95s with the exception of the magazine, which appears to be too short for a 5.8 x 42mm cartridge. Maybe they converted them to 9mm or 7.62 tokarev.
Edit: They're actually QCW-05 SMGs in 5.8 x 21mm.
