It's a ballistic twin of the .22 WMR. I wouldn't want to get shot by one, it's true, but ultimately you're going to war with a slightly flatter shooting 22 LR.
I could level similar criticism at the FN 5.7, but at least in that case you are moving fast enough to defeat a lot of kevlar, and you are over the threshold where you start to see actual tissue damage from temporary stretch cavity.
These are solidly into PDW territory -- great for lowering training requirements of troops that you'd otherwise issue a handgun to, and as you said making it at least a little bit effective out to 100 or 150 meters.
All things being equal though, 5.56x45 is going to be a serious overmatch to these (a statement that one doesn't get to make very often). Cover penetration, maximum point blank range and terminal ballistics should all be
It looks like the Chinese army also has their 5.7x43 round, which appears to have slight advantage over 5.56x45. I wonder if that is issues to actual frontline troops more often.
Those look like QBZ-95s fitted with silencers.
Edit: They are not QBZ-95 rifles, they are QCW-05 SMGs in 5.8 x 21mm.
You mean suppressor right?
Yeah. Only glowies say "silencer."
Is SilencerCO a front for the feds?
I just looked up 5.8 x 21. Oh my God they're adorable. I want one.
46 grains @ 1700 fps.
