I seem to remember more than a few times Lewis maligned the obsession with news, especially the constant reading of newspapers. He makes a really great point. Neil Postman makes a similar point in his book "Entertaining Ourselves To Death". Great book about media's intrusion into our lives.
I think after the 20th I am going to take this advice to heart and unplug for awhile. I think a lot of people are going to do this. Thanks for posting.
