Texas doesnt. We are the only state to have come into the union as our own country previously. It's written into our constitution that we can secede any time we want.
To leave the US peacefully, a state has to get 3/4 of all other state legislatures to agree.
Easier to Amend the constitution ffs.

That is not true and it has been ruled on in the SCOTUS several times already.
Texas CAN split in to up to 5 states, but it cannot leave the union unilaterally, it has to have consent.
