If it was real socialism then it worked. Germany had one of the strongest economies in the world around WW2. Their problem wasn't anything but their foreign policy.
The Nazi party went into full authoritarian mode.
They said they were going to help the German people.
They got millions of Germans Killed.
They are an example of what authoritarianism leads to.
